Getting to Victoria

Most of our delegates traveling by air will arrive at either Victoria International Airport (YYJ), or Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Delegates are advised to book flights to Victoria International, if possible, as the travel time between Vancouver International airport and downtown Victoria is several hours, involving an extended drive/bus ride and a 90 minute ferry crossing.

Traveling from the Vancouver Airport to Victoria

By Air

You can fly from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to the Victoria International Airport (YYJ).  A taxi cab from the Victoria Airport to the Fairmont Empress Hotel costs approximately $70, and the airport shuttle costs $21.

By Bus/Ferry

From Vancouver International Airport, you can take The Canada Line to Bridgeport Station, where you will take the city bus (route 620) to the Ferry Terminal at Tsawwassen.  You may purchase a bus ticket on board the ferry (approximately $20 one way) that will take you to the Victoria Bus Depot (adjacent to the Fairmont Empress Hotel).

Travelling from Seattle to Victoria

The Clipper Ferry is a high-speed passenger-only vessel that travels between downtown Seattle and downtown Victoria.  If you are travelling from Seatac International Airport, take a cab to the clipper ferry dock (approx $50).  From there, the ferry ride is 3 hours ($85 one way), and the ferry docks a 5 minute walk away from the Fairmont Empress Hotel.

Kenmore Air offers scenic 30-minute seaplane flights that leave from Seatac International Airport or Seattle’s downtown harbour and dock in Victoria’s inner harbour (approximately $130 each way).  The seaplane dock is a three minute walk from the Fairmont Empress Hotel.
